A little bit more about me:

Hello! My name is Nadir Kinani. Originally from London, I’ve been living in Australia for nearly 10 years. My Mam is Welsh and my Dad, Sudanese. I’m married (we eloped in Byron, it was amazing) and we have an Australian/British mix bulldog named Hughey. I’ve got a big black beard, long curly black hair and for some reason I wear a lot of purple.

I’m a Melbourne-based photographer and have been in the news industry for about 11 years in the UK and Australia. I’ve worked for The Guardian, Daily Mail online and The Daily Telegraph, as well as agencies like NewsWire, Matrix and Media-Mode, and am grateful to have been able to learn from some of best — and toughest — photographers, editors and picture editors.

I love editorial and news photography and portraying the truth in an image. Some of my favourite shots are portraits, the subjects of — like most people — aren’t exactly eager to get in front of the camera (including actors!). I get it, it’s weird, you feel awkward and you don’t know what to do with yourself. I enjoy making people feel comfortable and brainstorming about what we’re going to do beforehand. I’ll guide you during the shoot.

I love to collaborate, to work with people, to explore and play with ideas, to go off the deep end of creativity. I can help you and get the ball rolling with ideas, but your input, your ideas and what you want is really important.

So lets take some sick photos.
